Meet our Director!
Jessica Fitzgerald is a Colorado Native! She received her Bachelor's degree in Dance from Colorado Mesa University under the direction of Melonie Buchanan-Murray and Matthew Lindstrom. She has had the privilege of working with renowned artists such as Keith Clifton, Tony Coppola, Susan Hadly, Jennifer Kahl, Holly Lampe, Kim Noffsinger, Stephanie Powell and Tracy Sanfield. Jessica also performed in Aspen Dance Connection Company, Chicago: the musical, the Grand Junction Symphony's Nutcracker, Beyond Boundaries dance Collective and as a guest artist in Glacier Ice Arena's annual production. Jessica's choreography has been selected to be performed in the main stage dance productions at Colorado Mesa University and numerous times in student productions. Her choreography has won many awards at local competitions including; the showmanship award at the I Love Dance, dance competition, overall choreographer of the National Believe Competition, and multiple platinum awards at Intensity Dance, Starquest Dance, Releve Dance and others. She has won many awards including being recognized twice in the Who's who among American College students, Dancers Heart Award, Best Performer (2 years), The Moss Performing Arts Scholarship and the Mesa Talent Scholarship. Jessica was granted a full scholarship to the American Dance Festival at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. There she had the privilege to work with renowned choreographers and expand her dance training. Jessica loves to teach and is trained in teaching jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, musical theater, ballet and creative movement.
Meet our teachers
A Colorado native, Stephanie began her training at the age of 4; studying classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical and Tap. She appeared in many performances throughout the community (at malls, schools and retirement homes), including renditions of Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid, Cats, and The Nutcracker. In 2001 Stephanie joined the Junior Nuggets Dance Team and performed with them at several NBA games over 2 seasons. She also competed throughout the Denver area with her studio's competition team, and was awarded multiple high honors for both group numbers and solos.
Stephanie continued her education in college, earning a Bachelor of Arts in both Dance and Acting from Colorado Mesa University (CMU) in Grand Junction, CO. There, she trained heavily in Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Tap; dancing in several concerts under the direction of Melonie Buchanan Murray and Matthew Lindstrom. She was additionally granted the opportunity to work with several guest artists: Chung Fu Chang, Holly Lampe, Stephanie Powell, and Ric Rose. Stephanie also performed in multiple plays and musicals while at CMU, including All My Sons, Boston Marriage, Oklahoma, and Crazy For You.
Since graduating in 2012, Stephanie has performed with Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Avatar Movement Dance Company, and has both choreographed and appeared in several musicals throughout Colorado. Favorite credits include: West Side Story (Town Hall Arts Center), The Producers (Backstage Breckenridge Theatre), Brigadoon (Performance Now Theatre Company), and 42nd Street (Candlelight Dinner Playhouse).
Michelle began her dance training at the age of fourteen, after training for eleven years as a competitive gymnast. She took a variety of classes at The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, where at sixteen, was hired to teach within the Hip-Hop program. She continued to teach and choreograph for the next thirteen years. Following high school, Michelle earned a spot on the professional modern company, Ascential Dance Theater. She also danced with the Metropolitan State University hip-hop team, the Aristocrats, and has performed in many showcases and productions throughout Denver including dancing in a web commercial for Bellco Credit Union and opening for hip-hop artist, Trina, at the Summit Music Hall in 2014. Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and has combined her passion for dance and fitness by developing and teaching classes that build both strength and flexibility, while learning to dance in a high energy, supportive atmosphere.
