Competition Team Auditions
We are excited to welcome dancers to audition for the FDA Competition Team for the 2026–2027 season.
The Competition Team is designed for dancers who are interested in competing as part of a team while continuing to grow their technique and performance experience. Dancers selected for the team will participate in two group competition dances and rehearse together weekly throughout the season.
May 4 – Competition Team Auditions Day 1
Studio A | 4:00 – 4:45 PM | Ages 7 & Under
Style: Jazz Combo
Studio A | 5:00 – 6:30 PM | Ages 8–11
Style: Musical Theatre

May 5 – Competition Team Auditions Day 2
Studio A | 5:00 – 6:30 PM | Ages 12–13
Style: Hip Hop
Studio A | 6:45 – 8:00 PM | Ages 13 & Over

Audition results will be emailed within one week of auditions.
What to Expect at Auditions
Dancers will participate in a short warm-up, across-the-floor exercises, and will learn a choreography combination that they will perform for the instructors.
No prior dance experience is required to audition for the Competition Team. We treat auditions as a positive learning experience so dancers can gain confidence and exposure to the audition process.
Audition Attire
All black dancewear
Hair in a low bun
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check in before your audition time.
Team Commitment
Dancers selected for the Competition Team will commit to:
Weekly Competition Team rehearsal
At least one weekly technique class
At least one additional dance class
Participation in 3 competitions during the season
Specialty Dances
Competition Team dancers may compete in one specialty dance (solo, duet, or trio).
If your dancer chooses to compete a specialty dance, they must be enrolled in the style they are competing in.
Example: A dancer performing a contemporary solo must also be enrolled in a contemporary class.
